Founding President and Chief Executive Officer of policy think tank, Imani Centre for Policy and Education, Franklin Cudjoe has, in a sarcastic social media post, has cast doubts about Ghana’s number of persons who have recovered from the novel Coronavirus disease, linking the overnight recoveries of over a thousand persons to miracles performed in the Bible.
He made this comments following the update on the Coronavirus figures yesterday that put Ghana’s number of recovered cases at 1,754 with an increase of over a thousand in less than 48 hours.
Mr Cudjoe wondered whether or not all of them had been healed at one prayer camp.
“Grateful to our COVID-19 managers. But were the 1000+ overnight recoveries all at one prayer camp? Since the Pentecost day in the New Testament, and the feeding of the 5,000 by Jesus never have so many been miraculously healed. There is a God!” He posted on Facebook.
This seeming doubt of his attracted both praise and condemnation in equal measure, with some wondering why he was been sarcastic about a situation that.
While others sided with him, stressing that the jumps in the numbers are doubtful given our testing regime and other factors.
