The Kumasi High Court has referred a case involving allegations of illegal mining against the Paramount Chief of the Atti-Morkwa Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Kwesi Kennin IV, to the Chief Justice for jurisdictional determination.
The mining company accuses the chief of illegal activities on its concession, citing security concerns and requesting the case be held in the Ashanti Region, while the chief's lawyer insists it should be in the Central Region, where the incident occurred.
Additionally, nine more companies have sued the chief for alleged illegal mining on their lands, further complicating his legal challenges.
