A critically ill man, Ibrahim, died outside the University of Development Studies Tamale Campus after being abandoned by his brother and allegedly denied treatment at Tamale Teaching Hospital.
Ibrahim, who was paralyzed due to a spinal problem, was brought to Tamale by his brother, who left him to retrieve cash but didn't return until later.
Students found Ibrahim and alerted the police, who called an ambulance. However, the hospital refused to admit him due to lack of identification documents, and he died shortly after.
The police have deposited his body at the mortuary and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
