North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has criticized the National Cathedral project as "hazy, sleazy, and very corrupt" following the Finance Ministry's disclosure of GH¢339 million in funding.
Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Abena Osei-Asare. assured of value for money, citing audits by Deloitte Ghana, but Ablakwa disputed the project's accountability and progress.
He highlighted a lack of proper procurement processes and contradicted former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta's previous claim that no budget allocation supported the project.
Ablakwa emphasized the discrepancy between the Contingency Fund and Contingency Vault, questioning the transparency and consistency of the project's financial management.
