Oliver Barker-Vormawor, the convener of the Democracy Hub protest, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service on September 23, 2024, for alleged unlawful acts during recent demonstrations.
Initially declared wanted, Barker-Vormawor refuted claims of hiding, calling the allegations “baseless.”
His arrest follows the detention of two additional protesters, bringing the total to 44 since the protests began.
These protests focused on illegal mining, with demonstrators asserting their commitment to the cause despite increased police action.
