Final year students in the Denkyira-Obuasi Basic Schools who went AWOL following the recent brouhaha in the area have started trooping in to take part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination(BECE).
This follows a series of announcements in the surrounding villages for the students to turn up at the examination centre.
What seems to have done the trick is a promise by the authorities to house the students at the district capital Diaso until the exam is over.
70 out of the 73 students in the area have so far reported at the venue to take part in the exams.
The Upper Denkyira West District Director of Education, Rose Tenkorang in an interview with Kasapa News’ Central regional correspondent Kwaku Baah-Acheamfour pledged the commitment of the educational directorate to take good care of the students even as they house them at the district capital for the period of the exams.
Counselling services, she added will be provided the students so that they become mentally and psychologically ready for the exam.
