Former Majority Leader and Suame MP, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, has urged Parliament’s leadership to resolve the ongoing impasse with Speaker Alban Bagbin to ensure smooth parliamentary operations.
With the December 7 elections approaching, he stressed the need for unity, especially after the Speaker declared four seats vacant, leading to Parliament’s indefinite adjournment.
Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu highlighted that a continued deadlock could disrupt essential election preparations, including the pending Constitutional Instrument (CI) from the Electoral Commission, which outlines the legal framework for the elections.
He called for Parliament's immediate recall to address these critical matters.
