Former Minority Leader and Tamale South MP, Haruna Iddrisu, has rejected claims that some are attempting to blame former President John Mahama for Ghana's illegal mining (galamsey) crisis.
Speaking at the NDC's campaign launch in Hamile, Mr. Iddrisu pointed out that, according to Article 268 of the Constitution, all mineral resources are vested in the sitting president.
He emphasized that President Nana Akufo-Addo, not Mahama, holds responsibility for managing these resources and should be held accountable for any mismanagement affecting livelihoods.
He urged people to stop associating Mahama with the current galamsey issue.
