Electoral officers in Subin in the Ashanti region had to intervene to avert a scuffle in the Subin Constituency when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) realized that their seals on the ballot boxes had been tampered with.
Parliamentary candidate of the NPP in Subin Eugene Boakye Antwi who disclosed this to Ultimate News’ Theresa Oppong declined giving any further detail but indicated that the EC offered some tangible explanation to the development.
“The process has been okay apart from the initial hiccup where our party seals couldn’t be found on the ballot boxes. But that was rectified through an agreement of all the parties concerned,” he explained.
The candidate who cast his vote at the Aboagye Memorial polling station however told Theresa that party agents have been tasked to be vigilant and report any mishaps to the party’s office where he will be stationed.
Eugene Boakye Antwi beat the incumbent Isaac Osei marginally in the NPP parliamentary primaries to represent the party for today’s parliamentary elections.
