The Electoral Commission (EC) is expected to make public its investigative report regarding the sacking of two of its officials in July after they took the voters’ register to the Walawale residence of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to verify him.
The Assistant Head of Communications of the Electoral Commission (EC), Yussif Alhassan Ayuba, revealed this Monday.
Speaking to Joy FM, Ayuba said the commission will today make known the outcome of its investigations into the matter.
The two, Yubi Ambrose an exhibition officer and Mumuni latifa a verification officer, allegedly acting on the orders of a top EC officer in the district took the materials to the home of the former deputy governor of the Central Bank to validate his details on July 27.
However, the NPP denied the claims that its vice presidential candidate invited the two officials of the EC to his house to be verified, describing it as a calculated attempt by the NDC to make Dr. Bawumia unpopular in that region.
