The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has reported that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has fully complied with the Cash Waterfall Mechanism (CWM) for the second time, following intense scrutiny.
ECG allocated its total revenue of GHS 832.6 million for April 2024 to settle invoices from February 2024, with 71% going to Independent Power Producers and the West African Gas Pipeline Company.
The remaining amount was distributed among Level B beneficiaries, including state-owned enterprises.
However, the Ministry of Finance still owes GHS 215.9 million in shortfalls since August 2023, which the PURC is working to resolve.
