The Ghana Police Service has denied social media claims that 16-year-old Elrad Salifu Amoako, the suspect driver in a fatal accident, is not in custody at the Osu Correctional Centre.

In a statement on November 5, police confirmed Amoako remains detained, as ordered by the court on November 1.

They condemned the rumors as false and warned that spreading such misinformation is illegal under the Criminal Offences Act, 1960.

The police are investigating two social media accounts, “prisywanlov1” on TikTok and “EmpressPapa A-Amigos” on Facebook, linked to these claims and plan to pursue legal action.
