Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, also Chairman of the Ghana Police Council, urged the Ghana Police Service to ensure a peaceful and transparent general election in December.
During a ceremony for 430 newly promoted Assistant Superintendents of Police, he acknowledged the police's vital role in upholding democracy and maintaining public trust.
While commending their past efforts, he warned against complacency due to current security challenges and political tensions.
Bawumia emphasized the importance of professionalism and called for responsible conduct, highlighting the government's ongoing investment in police training and resources to enhance electoral security.
