The Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) plans to announce its new presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2024 elections within 24 hours, following the passing of its founder, Akua Donkor.
The Electoral Commission had given GFP a 10-day deadline to appoint a replacement.
Patrick Tetteh, GFP’s parliamentary candidate for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, confirmed that an executive meeting on November 4 will finalize the candidates, with a public announcement expected Tuesday.
Tetteh criticized suggestions that GFP withdraw from the election, calling it disrespectful to Akua Donkor's legacy, stating that staying in the race best honors her memory.
