The National Democratic Congress (NDC) plans to petition Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II regarding alleged electoral interference in the Ashanti Region.
The party accuses Brigadier General Michael Opoku, General Officer Commanding the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, of leading a rigging plot under government directives, targeting the upcoming December 2 special voting exercise.
At a press briefing, NDC Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi called on the Asantehene to intervene to preserve peace in Kumasi and the Ashanti Region, where the alleged operations are centered.
The NDC expressed confidence in Otumfuo's commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
