Fantana to share Sanitary pads after her public gaffe

Fast-rising Ghanaian artiste, Fantana, is embarking on a face-saving mission by donating sanitary pads to students after a wardrobe malfunction inadvertently cause her to embarrassingly expose her sanitary pad to patrons at Shatta Wale’s Reign and Obrafour's concert last weekend.

Speaking to www.ghanaweb.com, Fantana said, “The campaign is to help girls who skip school during menstrual periods just to avoid embarrassment, especially when they stain themselves with blood. This happens because they have no knowledge about sanitary towels whiles some of them also can’t afford it”.
Fantana’s initiative came after Ghanaians condemned her for not dressing appropriately to perform at a public event which led to revealing her menstrual placemat. The theme for her project is “Pad a Girl”.
Responding to critics in a Press Release on Monday, October, 20, Fantana said "Regardless of my costume being transparent, my only option was to put on a sanitary pad and still go-ahead to perform. I am a woman and I am not afraid of menstruating.
"Yes, my menses appeared 30 minutes to my performance and I had to put on a sanitary pad and still go on stage. Menstruation is not a shame, and I urge all young women to take a cue from my actions and not to let it stop them from doing anything they want to do”.
