A former Deputy Minister for the Western Region, Alfred Ekow Gyan, has passed away.
Mr Ekow Gyan is reported to have died of complications of the deadly COVID-19 virus.
He was brought to Accra for treatment but could not survive.
He gave up the ghost on Wednesday night, 3news.com gathered.
Alfred Ekow Gyan, popularly known as Abbott, was a two-time parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Takoradi Constituency.
He served as deputy regional minister from 2013 to 2017 under the presidency of John Dramani Mahama.
