GES introduces self-placement system for newly qualified teachers

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has launched a self-placement system for 12,720 newly qualified teachers who passed licensure exams and completed their education degrees.

Over 20,000 applications were received, with successful candidates invited to choose placements from July 5 to 31, 2024.

Director-General Eric Nkansah emphasized the system's benefits, including overcoming language barriers and enabling teachers to select schools close to their families.
