The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMET) has warned of increased rainfall and strong winds in the coming weeks, especially in the northern region.
This announcement was made during a National Workshop on Floods and Drought Early Warning. Senior meteorologist Joshua Asamoah noted that while strong winds can cause damage, they can also reduce flooding by lowering rainfall accumulation.
The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has trained personnel for quick response and advises the public to seek shelter during storms and avoid areas with many trees.
GMET emphasizes the importance of adhering to weather warnings to ensure safety.
