Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has criticized President Nana Akufo-Addo for not declaring a state of emergency over illegal mining, known as galamsey, which is devastating Ghana’s water bodies.
Cudjoe believes the president's recent trips to China have overshadowed the urgent need to address this crisis.
Speaking on Channel One's The Big Issue, Cudjoe also criticized the National Security Minister for failing to act on the issue, calling the situation an "existential threat" and urging immediate leadership from the president.
