Galamsey: Nine mining companies sue Paramount Chief of Atti-Morkwa

The Paramount Chief of Atti-Morkwa, Oseadeeyo Kwesi Kennin IV, is facing new legal challenges after nine mining companies sued him for allegedly conducting illegal mining on their lands.

This adds to an earlier case by Kadesh Mining Enterprise, accusing him of unauthorized mining.

The companies are seeking a court order to stop the Chief from further invading their concessions and to restore the mined areas.

The case was adjourned to October 28, 2024, as the judge awaits a ruling from the Kumasi High Court on jurisdiction for the Kadesh case.
