Organised Labour remains set to strike on Thursday, October 10, despite President Akufo-Addo's recent appeal for more time to address their demands.

The strike aims to pressure the government to ban all forms of mining in forest reserves and take stronger action against illegal mining, known as galamsey.

After a crucial meeting, labour leaders stated that the government's proposals did not adequately meet their demands.

Key requests include declaring a state of emergency, revoking L.I. 2462, and deploying military forces to combat illegal mining in forest areas and water bodies.
