Foreign Affairs Minister, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, has announced a new bill to strengthen the Ghana Boundary Commission, aligning it with international standards.
The Ghana Boundary Commission will host the inaugural meeting of West African boundary commissions from July 9th to 11th, 2024. The meeting aims to enhance collaboration and border governance strategies.
Major General Emmanuel Okotiea emphasized the need for synergy among West African countries, highlighting Ghana's success in resolving border issues.
Albert Siaw Boateng of ECOWAS stressed joint border patrols and information sharing, while Nigeria's Adamu Adaji highlighted security challenges affecting border management in the region.
