Ghana Signs Agreement for HIV/Aids Funding

Ghana has signed an agreement with the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to expand health care services for patients with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Since the international mechanism for disease funding was created in January, this agreement is the first to be finalized.

Ghana has signed an agreement with the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria to expand health care services for patients with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. Since the international mechanism for disease funding was created in January, this agreement is the first to be finalized. Two projects in Ghana are being funded with a total grant of $6.5 million. One project targets people living with HIV/AIDS and the other provides treatment for 20,000 tuberculosis patients.
