President John Dramani Mahama has talked up Ghana’s peace and stability, saying it is the country’s major selling point and brand.

“We have strong record of good elections, rule of law, respect of human rights and a judiciary that is able to adjudicate cases fairly.

“I think these are all strong selling points for Ghana.”

President Mahama made these remarks on Thursday, when a delegation from the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF) called on him at the Flagstaff House, Kanda in Accra.

MEDEF is the largest employer federation in France and the visit is a follow-up of President Mahama’s last year.

The over 20-member delegation included managers of multinational and medium-sized organizations, according to leader Patrick Lucas, who is also the Chairman of the African Committee of MEDEF.

President Mahama observed that the area of infrastructure is where Ghana is desperately looking for partners.

“The World Bank estimates that we have a funding shortfall in terms of infrastructure investment of about $1.5 billion a year. There is the need for new toll roads, railways, expanded ports, real estate and housing.”

The delegation is expected to tour some interests before leaving Accra.
