Ghanaians voted for a change in government and the incumbent National Democratic Congress as well as President John Mahama will not challenge the results, General Secretary of the NDC has said.

“That is the verdict of the masses so if it is the verdict, nobody can challenge it and Ghana is bigger than any personal interest or institution so the country must move on,” Mr Asiedu Nketia told Class91.3FM’s Paa Kwesi Parker-Wilson in an interview at the Headquarters of the Electoral Commission shortly after President Mahama called president-elect Nana Akufo-Addo of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to congratulate and concede defeat to him.

Prior to Mr Mahama’s concession, Mr Mahama held on to his concession call until the party had been assured that it had really lost the polls.

“Nobody goes to court with the attitude that they are going to lose, otherwise they won’t go to court at all, but the verdict is for the judges, once they have taken the decision, everybody must comply so the electorate are the judges, they’ve taken their decision, let’s move on with it.”
