Ghanaian academic wins top law prize

Dr Francis Botchway from the School of Law recently won the Willoughby Prize 2004 for his article on ?Privatisation and State Control ? The Case of the Ashanti Goldfields Company?. His feature was published in a special issue of the International Bar Association?s Journal of Energy and Natural Resources Law. Dr Botchway also co-edited the special edition on energy and natural resources in Africa in which his article appeared.

The Willoughby Prize, is awarded annually to the best contribution from a young academic to the Journal and is awarded in memory of Geoffrey Willoughby, renowned energy practitioner and a leading contributor to the development of energy law in the UK.
