Former president John Agyekum Kufuor has appealed to Ghanaians to “give the New Patriotic Party a chance” come December 7 because the party has the skillset to transform the country.
“Give NPP the chance and Ghana will be renewed," ex-president Kufuor pleaded at a public lecture addressed by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on the state of Ghana’s economy.
He described Dr. Bawumia as the rescuer who can resuscitate “the ailing economy” under President John Mahama over the last four years.
Kufuor remarked: "NPP doesn't need to issue a manifesto for the 2016 elections. Dr Bawumia has said it all."
Kufuor patted Akufo-Addo – the NPP flagbearer – on the back for picking an economic genius like Bawumia as his running mate.
"The mark of a great leader is one who is able to pick people like Dr Bawumia," Kufuor observed.
He said Ghanaians are in low spirit over the state of the economy.
“Ghanaians are mourning and they want answers,” Kufuor noted.
He said in this era of “technocracy and solutions oriented applications, the nation must itself be fortunate to have such a son as Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia.”
Dr. Bawumia in his two-hour lecture jabbed Mahama for presiding over a haggard economy.
