The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, has appealed to the general public to furnish police with information to deal with crime.
Speaking at the commissioning of Ahenema Kokoben police station in the Atwima Kwanwoma district on Thursday, 25 January, 2018, built by a philanthropist, he said information from the general public is very relevant in the discharge of their duties.
He noted that some Ghanaians choose to hide criminals instead of informing police and releasing them to be dealt with.
He noted that the police need tip-offs to get rid of criminals from the society.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah called on the private sector to solely or partner government to support security efforts in the country.
He said the support could be infrastructure or requisite resources that can help the police administration to deal with crime to maintain the peace and security since security plays a very relevant role in the socio-economic development of the nation.
He said most investors would like to invest in environment where there is relative peace and stability. Therefore, it was important for the communities to be peaceful and safe in other to draw in investors.
