Agbotui emphasized her determination to protect the choice of the electorate, stating, “If my opponent intends to rig the elections, he won’t get it easy. One plus one must be equal to two and not five, so we want to make sure that the figures from the constituency tally during the elections.”
Her remarks underline her commitment to transparency in the election process as she seeks to secure another term.
Traditionally, Awutu Senya West has only elected MPs for one term, but Agbotui expressed confidence that her constituents are ready to break this cycle. She stated that her supporters are eager for continuity and development, promising her a second term to fulfill her ongoing initiatives.
“My people have assured me of voting for me to end the one-term thing because it regards development,” she added.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP noted that many residents of Awutu Senya West view her re-election as essential to advancing local development projects. She assured her constituents that she would stand firm against any interference that threatens to disrupt the integrity of the election process.
Agbotui’s statements come amid heightened campaigning as the election date draws closer, with both parties vying to secure strong support in the region.
