Ato Koomson, son of the MP for Awutu Senya East and Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Mavis Hawa Koomson, was allegedly stabbed near the Electoral Commission’s office in Kasoa.
The incident occurred during a dispute between NPP and NDC supporters over queue positions for the voter ID transfer and replacement exercise.
The altercation began around 4:00 am, escalating when Koomson arrived and attempted to mediate.
An NDC member reportedly pulled a knife and stabbed Koomson in the chest.
Both Koomson and another injured individual, King Adawu, were taken to the hospital. The main suspect has been arrested as investigations continue.
