The Ghana Hoteliers Association plans to investigate threats from some hoteliers to sue the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) over unpaid debts from the 13th African Games in Accra.
Hoteliers claim they received only 20% of the agreed payment for hosting guests, with 80% still outstanding despite repeated attempts to collect the balance.
Dr. Edward Ackah-Nyameke, President of the Hoteliers Association, highlighted the financial strain on hotels and called for prompt payment.
The issue, recurring with public agencies, affects over 40 hotels involved in hosting 13,000 participants of the games, which ended on March 23.
