The Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has disclosed that he almost beat up investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In an interview with Asempa FM, he explained that this occurred at the premises of the General Legal Council (GLC).
Adomonline.com reports that Agyapong added that his hatred for Anas makes it almost impossible for them to meet without a fight.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Agyapong dragged Anas to the GLC on the charges of unprofessional conduct.
He explained that Anas’ modus operandi involved entrapping people, and this should not be countenanced.
Upon being summoned by the GLC, Agyapong disclosed that he found it difficult to keep his cool and almost beat up Anas.
The tension between the two men reached a new level after Ahmed Hussein Suale, a colleague of Anas, was murdered on the night of Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Madina in Accra.
A old video showing Agyapong threatening to beat up Ahmed quickly surfaced online, and this became a subject of intense debates.
In Agyapong’s opinion, the release of the video is a plot by Anas to divert attention.
He further stated that until Anas is invited by the police to answer questions, he would not honour such requests from them to assist with investigations.
