President Akufo-Addo has said he is hurt because Major Mahama was killed under his regime as President of the country.
Major Mahama was murdered by the people of Denkyira Obuasi after he was mistaken for an armed robber. Major Mahama’s death took the country by storm as Ghanaians could not fathom why human beings could subject their fellow human being to such treatment.
Speaking at a durbar as part of his six days visit to the Central and Western Regions, President Akufo-Addo indicated that he is hurt by the actions of the youth of Major Mahama.
The President indicated that in the era of democracy, such violent and gruesome acts must not he entertained and warned that the act should be the last time such an incident to happen in the area or anywhere in Ghana.
He indicated that he has ordered for investigations into the matter and has promised to bring all culprits of the barbaric act to book to serve as a deterrent to others.
He, however, promised of an equitable distribution of the Nation’s resources to all Ghanaians including the people of Denkyira Obuasi.
The President is on a tour of the Western and Central regions of Ghana.
