The Ayawaso Central Member of Parliament and Minister of State in Charge of National Security, Henry Quartey has said he would work hard in the campaign period for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain the Ayawaso Central seat by a margin of 10,000 votes.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that not only will he retain the seat for the NPP but the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will also win by the same margin in his constituency and the entire nation at large to continue a second term.
Speaking to Class News’ Blessed Sogah on the sidelines of the ongoing vetting of NPP Parliamentary aspirants in the Greater Accra Region on Friday, 28 February 2020, Mr Quartey despite winning the seat on two previous occasions he will not be complacent as December approaches.
"Even though I know I’ve 6,547 margin, I’ll not go into this election thinking that it is done deal. I'm going to go out there like I've never won an election before and I want to work hard to ensure that we appreciate our votes from 6000 to 10,000 or more votes," he said.
"The NPP will win in Ayawaso Central, the NPP will win in Ghana, Mr President will be president again through the humble prayer, support and care of the good people of this country," Mr Quartey added.
