Tensions are escalating within Organised Labour as its leadership prepares for a nationwide strike to demand government action against illegal mining, or "galamsey."
The Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) and other groups are dissatisfied, claiming they were not consulted about the strike announcement.
A faction called "Concerned Members of Organised Labour" is urging the leadership to suspend the strike and seek further dialogue with the government.
Dr. Solomon Fokuo from TUTAG expressed that better communication and member involvement could have improved the situation, emphasizing the need for unity in the fight against galamsey.
