National Democratic Congress (NDC) Legislator for Ningo-Prampram in the Greater Accra Region, Sam George who last month predicted Ghana’s Black Stars were never going to return with even Indomie, wonders if the cost of a box of the product now sells at $4.5 million.
The lawmaker who has consistently maintained the senior national team needs a total overhaul before the several years of trophy drought can end, made mockery of a $4.5 million budget for the failed African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt.
In a Facebook he asked “Dear Umaru Sanda Amadu, Please how much is a box of indomie? US$4.5 million? God bless our Homeland Ghana”
The government of Ghana is said to have spent a total of $4.5 million on the 2019 AFCON.
The Black Stars were knocked out of the competition in the knockout stages by Algeria in penalty shootout despites being tipped as favourites.
Minister of Youth and Sports Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah who presented the budget to parliament, disclosed that a detailed report will be presented to parliament’s committee by July 26, 2019.
