JoyNews Erastus Asare Donkor and crew attacked by armed men at mining site in Ashanti Region

Three staff members of the Multimedia Group, including journalist Erastus Asare Donkor, were attacked by armed men reportedly working for Edelmetallum Resources Limited, a mining company near Asumenya in the Ashanti Region.

The attackers, over ten men armed with pump-action guns, abducted and severely beat the staff before abandoning them.

This incident follows ongoing destruction in the newly restored Asenanyo Forest Reserve and pollution of streams connected to the Ankobra River.

Erastus Asare Donkor, known for his environmental activism against illegal mining, has filed an official complaint with the Manso Edubia police for investigation.
