The Chief Executive Officer of Irbard Security Consult, Irbard Ibrahim is praying that the arrest of the Deputy General Secretary of NDC, Koku Anyidoyo is not over dramatized and blown out of proportion, to take the attention of Ghanaians from the developmental priorities as a nation.

In his latest writing on his Facebook page, the security analyst further stated that "Mr Anyodoho’s comment was incendiary. But he has a wife and kids to go to at the end of every working day. I courteously call for his immediate release, as prolonging his detention would only increase tension."

Below is the statement

PARDON MR ANYIDOHO, A PUBLIC APOLOGY SUFFICES – Ibrahim Irbard

“I have been monitoring with grave concern, the unfolding drama between Ghana’s CID and a key figure of the main opposition NDC.

At this critical moment in our history as a country, we have pressing issues to address in the areas of education, healthcare delivery and infrastructure.

It is my fervent wish that such an incident is not over-dramatized and blown out of proportion, to take our attention off our developmental priorities as a nation.

No two ways about the fact that Mr Anyidoho’s comment was incendiary. But he has a wife and kids to go to at the end of every working day. I courteously call for his immediate release, as prolonging his detention would only increase tension.

Intel may advise the police whether to cancel tomorrow’s peaceful march or not. I am not fit to say whether the protest should go on or be cancelled.

Mr Anyidoho may render a public apology to the people of Ghana and sign an undertaking to exercise caution in his future public utterances to the media.

As a peace builder, I urge Ghanaians not to reduce every facet of our national life to partisan politics. Doing so only rolls back our progress and cohesive momentum.

This goes beyond politics. It’s about our national stability and any comment from a politician, clergyman, academic, chief or an opinion leader that has veiled threats to our stability is unfortunate, most regrettable and unacceptable .”
