National Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has described the charges leveled against his party Chairman, himself and Kweku Boahen as funny and a strategy used by the ruling party to intimidate them against their 2020 elections goals.

“The charges leveled against us are funny, uncalled-for and has no basis whether by fact or law, but they [authorities in charge of the case] are acting in such manner because they believe they have the powers in their hands,” he said.

According to him they are waiting patiently to be invited to court to testify their side of the story as they have been made aware that the case has been sent to court for further investigation.

However, he mentioned on Adom FM’s ‘mpensenpensenmu’ political discussion programme that the concentration of the political party in power on the case is basically on three mischievous points against their party.

“The first is to put fear in members of the NDC especially its leaders who speak on authority, secondly to disrupt our election 2020 tactical agenda and thirdly play diversionary tactics to deflect the too-much talk on the cedi depreciation to talk issues which are not of importance to the nations development,” he lamented.

He said their plans cannot intimidate or stop any of their party members from freely speaking their minds as citizens of this country.

“We will never lose focus but speak the truth on concrete issues in a brave manner. Nobody can silence us in this country,” he added.
