Chairman of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo will today, Thursday, 7 March 2019 return to the CID headquarters where he will continue to assist in investigations into a leaked tape that allegedly has his voice.
Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo was on Monday, 4 March 2019 granted a GHS400,000 bail and cautioned by the police.
He spent over nine hours with the CID in connection with the leaked tape.
The voice on the tape purported to be that of the NDC Chairman is heard inciting verbal violence against the Chairpersons of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa and the Chairman of the National Peace Council Rev Prof Emmanuel Asante.
“We’re going to take her [EC boss] to the cleaners.”
“As for the EC chair, we must wage a relentless war on this EC chair. Me, she doesn’t want to see my face,” Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo said.
He also said: “For the first time, I’ll endorse insulting the National Peace Council Chair.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Ofosu-Ampofo has said the tape is doctored.
