Kofi Bentil, Senior Vice President of IMANI Africa, has urged the government to avoid actions that suggest favoritism towards the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2024 election.
Despite supporting Bawumia, Bentil insists his victory should be legitimate.
His comments follow President Akufo-Addo's controversial appointment of Christian Tetteh Yohuno as Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, which some interpret as an attempt to undermine IGP Dr. George Dampare.
Bentil criticized the move as legally questionable and damaging to public perception, calling for fairness and transparency in the electoral process.
