Akim Abuakwa South MP Samuel Atta Akyea has opposed the idea that MPs should lose their seats simply for expressing future political intentions.
Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on October 16, he argued that MPs are not “robots” and should be allowed to contemplate their political futures without immediate consequences.
Atta Akyea emphasized that such declarations are about future plans, not current actions, and do not equate to crossing political lines.
He stressed that MPs should have the freedom to change their minds, warning against rigid interpretations of parliamentary rules that limit political flexibility.
