National Communication Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi says the Director-General of the Criminal Investigation Department [CID], COP Maame Tiwaa Addo-Danquah is cutting short her career as a Police Officer.
“ . . What is COP Tiwaa taking from the NDC National Chairman, she should tell us . . . look members of the NDC cannot be cowards, Tiwaa came to meet the NDC party and will again leave power, but NDC will still remain. Look, the only thing she is succeeding in doing now is to cut short her career as a police woman because she has made us aware that she is no more serving Ghana as a nation, but NPP as a party,” he said.
He insisted the CID boss should be ready to pack her luggage and leave post the very day NPP leaves office because the NDC government will not entertain her one minute.
“COP Tiwaah should be ready at any time to leave office as soon as NPP loses election because no NDC government will ever entertain her,” he stressed.
He continued that the NDC as a party is not afraid of any police arrest but will not make their Chairman appear before the CID boss.
On Adom FM’s 'Mpensenpensenmu' panel discussion programme Thursday, Sammy Gyamfi stated that “Enough is enough with this government, we will not sit again in this country to allow our democracy be cultured back into silent.”
Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo Declines Invitation
In a letter addressed to the NDC National chairman, the Police CID said it "has commenced investigations into cases of kidnapping and fire outbreaks in various parts of the country.
"Intelligence gathered indicates that some of these kidnappings and fire outbreaks are being orchestrated by unidentified groups, persons and individuals. Some of the persons picked up for interrogation and investigation have mentioned your name as part of a grand scheme designed to cause fear and panic in the country,” the police stated in a letter.
But in a letter signed by his lawyer Dr. Dominic Ayine and addressed to the police CID, he stated that "we take the respectful view that since our client is not under arrest for the alleged offences, he is legally entitled to decline your invitation. We have therefore advised him accordingly.”
