Former President John Dramani Mahama has been accused of being the brain behind recent demonstrations and attacks against the Electoral Commission.
The NDC has been demonstrating and insisting that the EC changes its decision on compiling a new voters' register. The largest opposition party and other eight smaller ones have sworn to rain havoc on the EC should they go ahead with its decision.
However, Deputy Minister of Information, Pius Enam Hadzide claims the former President who is the Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wants to use the voters’ register as an excuse to come back in 2024.
"No matter what you do, you will lose in 2020 . . . Mahama is aiming at 2024 if he loses 2020, so he is the one pushing the NDC to demonstrate against the new voters’ register so that no one will blame him when he loses in 2020".
"They will blame the register, but that alone cannot convince Ghanaians to vote for you," he said while contributing to a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show 'Kokrokoo'
