Executives of the New Patriotic Party in the Central Region have rubbished President John Mahama’s premonition that their parliamentary candidate for the Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, will lose the December 7 election.
President Mahama at the start of his Central Regional campaign tour Monday told a rally in the constituency that he is confident that the electorate will vote for the NDC candidate for the area, the Municipal Chief Executive for Assin North, Dr Kofi Blankson.
Regional Organiser of the NPP, Thomas Agyei Baffour told Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene Tuesday “the seat will not leave the NPP today or tomorrow. Ken will retain the seat in the next week’s election”.
Mr. Agyei Baffour added “the 2008 election was different. The 2012 election was also different while the 2016 is different….The dynamics have changed. It will never happen that Ken will lose that seat. The president is joking”.
He said the NDC is tickling itself with the assertion that the Mr Agyapong will lose the election, adding “we shall make history in Assin Central. Kofi Blankson will never win”.
