The Manhyia Palace is set to celebrate the 100th anniversary of King Prempeh I’s return from exile in Seychelles.
The historic event, announced by Deputy Chief of Staff Lawrence Prempeh, will feature a grand cultural and historical gathering this weekend.
Dignitaries, including the President of Seychelles, the Prime Minister of Eswatini, and President Akufo-Addo, will attend.
The celebration will begin with a durbar of chiefs at Manhyia Palace on Saturday, followed by a thanksgiving service at St. Cyprian’s Anglican Church in Kumasi on Sunday.
The event will honor King Prempeh I’s return in 1924 and celebrate the Ashanti Kingdom’s resilience.
Attendees are expected to dress respectfully, as the event is non-political.
