Member of Parliament for Kintampo South Constituency Felicia Adjei has blamed President Akufo-Addo for the police assault case that happened at Midland Savings and Loan in Accra.
A video of the policeman in an altercation with the woman, Patience Osafo, 36, at the Shiashie branch of Midland Savings and Loans Limited, sent outrage across social and mainstream media.
In the video, the policeman was seen using an umbrella to hit the woman, who was carrying a baby, and then hit her with his hand as he dragged her on the floor while she wailed and cried.
Speaking on the performance of the Akufo-Addo government on the ‘After Hours’ last Friday, the former beauty queen told host Mikki Osei Berko: “Nana can clearly see that everything is not going on well.”
“A good example,” she cited, “is the recent Midland issue where a police man abused a customer. Nana didn’t do it but perhaps he may be part of the invisible forces,” she joked.
Felicia Adjei, however, called on the government to do more to get women into Parliament.
She advocated the introduction of the quota system of admitting women into the House.
