The Ministry of Energy is to conduct engineering survey to determine how to supply off-grid electricity to some communities in the Abirem Constituency.
This has become necessary because of the difficulty in connecting them to the national grid.
The Sector Minister, Boakye Agyarko, announced this when answering a question on the floor of Parliament on Thursday.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Abirem, John Frimpong Osei, had asked the Minister about the plans and steps his ministry was taking to make sure that the people in the said communities had access to electricity.
These include Akyekyeresu, Tetteh Brofo, Alhajikrom and Yaw Broni.
Some chiefs travelled all the way from the area to observe things from the public gallery of the House.
The Energy Minister said their presence amply demonstrated their desire to see electricity extended to their communities.
