Highlife musician Lucky Mensah says his life has been under threat since he switched from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Ahead of the December polls, Lucky Mensah has presented a copy of his latest track Yeresesamu to the presidential nominee of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, in support of his third try at winning the presidency.
Until recently, the musician was known to be working for the NDC. In 2012, Lucky Mensah composed Atta B?y? to support the re-election bid of then-President John Atta Mills.
Speaking on ETV Ghana's State of the Nation programme hosted by Kwame Gyan on Monday September 12, Lucky Mensah revealed that since announcing his support for the NPP, he had been receiving several death threats.
He said: “People are insulting and threatening me for supporting the NPP.” He is yet to report the threats to the Police.
In spite of the threats on his life, he indicated that Mr Akufo-Addo would win the elections on December 7.
“I strongly believe Nana Akufo-Addo will win the elections,” he emphasised.
